The Women team ended the season as runners up
Tesfa have been the dominant team in the Asmara women league over the last 4 years, but ended this as the runners up on goal difference. The women’s league in Asmara includes 5-6 teams, but the competitive teams are only Tesfa and Natna. Tesfa lost 2-4 to Natna on the first league, but they made revenge by beating Natna 4-3 on the final day. However, this was not enough to make Tesfa crown champions, as the rivals Natna at the end had a better goal difference.
Overall, many experienced players have left the team this season. Around 7-8 Tesfa women players haven’t played this season for mainly two reasons: marriage and military training. However, there are also promising new players joining the team from the girls youth tournament.
